And I will put enmity between thee and
the woman, and between thy seed and
her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou
shalt bruise his heel.
For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For he is our peace, who hath made one,
and hath broken down the middle wall of
partition between us;
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,
even the law of commandments contained
in ordinances; for to make in himself of
twain one new man, so making peace.
And that he might reconcile both unto
God in one body by the cross, having slain
the enmity thereby.
Genesis 3:15
John 3:16
Ephesians 2:14-16
As I look to God
The incarnate one.
I know he came down
To be the Son.
That he walked on earth
To be with us.
To be known of man
As the Lord Christ Jesus.
Of heaven and earth
He made everything.
The wondrous I AM
Of all, he is King!
The One
Innocence so pure
He came of age.
Knowing his purpose
Paying sins wage.
Our Christ the Lord
A sacrifice to be.
The final for all
Including you and me.
With his own blood
Upon a cross of shame.
That we could be free
Of all wrong and blame.
That we could walk
Through heavens great door.
Being with him
Forevermore.
A Sacrifice
Before a great multitude
Stood Christ the Lord.
Asking this question
"What can you afford?
Death eternal
Or, life with me?
Your sins were placed
Upon this tree.
For upon this cross
My own blood I gave.
That your eternal soul
I could save!"
So, to Him we come
Our sins to place.
To be covered with love
Not disgrace.
A gift of love
Mankind to save.
For the sins of all
His own life..He gave.
They led him to Pilate
Roman governor of the time.
Crying, "We want this man tried
Tried for his crime!"
But Pilate could find
No fault in him.
Of the priests he asked
"What is his sin?
Here I have two
One can go free.
Which do you choose
Who will it be?"
The people all shouted
"Barabbas the murderer, the thief.
But take this Jesus
He gives us grief.
Crucify him, crucify him
We want him dead.
Take him and hang him
His blood on our heads!".
Taken to the soldiers
Christ was scourged and bruised.
For all their amusement
He was mock and used.
A robe of scarlet
Around him they placed.
Then bowing low
Him they disgraced.
A plaited crown of thorns
Was shoved down on his head.
While the people shouted
"We want him dead!
Take him and hang him
We want him dead!
Then down the street of sorrows
Our Christ was led.
Take This Jesus
On to Gethsemane
They walk along.
Three with him
Peter, James and John.
When they had gone
But a short way.
Jesus asked them to sit
While he went to pray.
He then walked on
To be alone.
To the ground he fell
How his soul did groan.
"Father, everything is possible
Unto thee.
If it be thy will
Let this cup pass from me."
His sweat became
As drops of blood.
As agony swept o're him
A smothering flood.
In anquish he cried
"Let this burden pass away!"
But he knew he must die
Before the end of this day.
Then came the betrayer
Judas was this.
Stood next to the Lord
On his cheek placed the kiss.
With a hammer they drove
The nails into him.
Into innocent flesh
Where there was no sin.
When they lifted him up
He made not a sound.
Even as the cross
Fell hard, into the ground.
The brought Him some hyssop
With gaul and myrrh.
But he turned His head
The pain to endure.
The soldiers parted His raiment
But His vesture they would not.
For this they decided
To cast their lots.
Between two malefactors
On the right and the left.
Christ was hung on His cross
With those who'd transgressed.
As one of the two
Railed upon Him.
The other said, "Silence,
He has done no sin.
For our wrong
Our end is this.
But this man has done nothing,
Nothing amiss."
The he asked Jesus,
"Please remember me."
Then to him Jesus spoke,
"With me in paradise, today you shall be."
From the sixth hour to the ninth
They all marvelled at the sight.
For the sky had darkened
It was as black, as the night.
As Christ hung upon his cross
"Eli, Eli, la'ma sabach'thani," he cried out.
Then, with His last gasp of breath, "It is finished.!"
Was His final shout.
From the top to the bottom
The temple veil was torn.
The purpose for which
Our Lord was born.
To open the way
For all who would come.
To gain this salvation
The promise of the Son.

Jesus Crucified
A disciple of Jesus
Joseph by name.
Sought the body of Jesus
Unto Pilate he came.
It was the day before Sabbath
For Christ's body begged he.
Pilate then stated
"Let this thing be...."
Joseph had a sepulcher
Of hewn stone it was made.
Here would the body
Of his Lord be laid.
Joseph and Nicodemus
From the cross took him down.
Laying his torn body
Upon the hard ground.
With aloes and myrrh
The custom of the day.
In fine linen he was wrapped
In his grave to lay.
They rolled a great stone
To the entrance of the room.
Closing the doorway
Sealing tightly the tomb.
Christ's Burial
The Borrowed Tomb
John 19:38-42
When the women returned
Upon the first day of the week.
They came to the sepulcher
The Lord's body to seek.
But the stone was rolled back
And his body was gone.
They were confused
Something was wrong.
Then there appeared
Two angels in white.
And the women bowed low
Upon seeing this sight.
Then the angels
Unto them did say.
"Why do you come back,
To this place today?
Why do you seek
The living among dead?
He is arisen,
Just as he said!
That he should be delivered
Into the hands of man.
Be crucified, and in three days
He would arise again."
Mary then turned
And ran away.
To tell the disciples
What had happened this day.
"We went to his tomb,
To be with him there.
But they have taken him
And we know not where."
Peter, John and Mary
Ran back to the tomb.
But still only found
A silent, empty room.
As Mary stood
Away from that place.
Tears of great sorrow
Streamed down her face.
A stranger then asked her
"Why do you weep?
Why are you here,
Who do you seek?"
Not knowing it was Jesus
Who was speaking to her.
She asked him these questions,
"Please tell me sir.
Have you taken the body
Of my Lord away?
Where have you put him?
Where does he lay?"
Calling her name
Again, Jesus spoke unto her.
Turning quickly she cried,
"Rabboni?" Meaning master.
He had arisen,
Just as he'd said.
Her heart, it leapt,
He was not dead!
He is Arisen
Luke 24:1-9
The Resurrection
Our Lord has scars upon His body, from the scourging of the whip. Our Lord has scars from the crown of thorns, that was shoved down upon his head. Our Lord has scars in His hands and in His feet, from the nails driven in, that would hang Him from the cross. Our Lord has a scar in His side, from the spear that was thrust into Him. To make sure men would see, that He was dead.
Why? Because we would die in our sins and have no way to be with Him, so, He became sin for us. That final sacrifice for all the sins of all the world. This is the reason for this burden He bore. He died, went into the grave, took the keys of death and of hell, and arose again. He ascended unto His glory and sent back that part of Him, the Holy Spirit, to dwell in us.
These scars, He bore and bears for us. Because of His love for us, the Creator died, (though so unworthy we are) for us, His creation. He did not die because He needed us. He died because we needed Him!
What manner of love is this?
What Manner of Love is This?
"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life, for his friends." John 15:13
