Wherefore also it is contained in
scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief
cornerstone, elect, precious; and he that
believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1 Peter 2:6
The Promise
Where are you
going?
The shackles and chains
Which held me so tight.
Are there no more
My burden is light.
No other gods
Do I put before him.
And no longer does God
Remember my sin.
When God sent his Spirit
Down upon me.
He sent my heart soaring
He set my soul free.
In the ways of this world
I no longer care.
For in his promise eternal
I now have a share.
Shackles and Chains
God's glorious power
Belongs to you.
His promise will always
Remain true.
When he calls
Quickly obey.
Do his will
Each passing day.
Know temptation
Its difference from sin.
But, if you should slip
Take it quickly to him.
Make no allowance
To backward go.
For patiently waiting
Is an evil foe.
Become a lover
A student of God's word.
Understand all things
The prophets heard.
Unto you he'll give
A bottomless cup.
One that can never
Ever fill up.
Keep your life
In order for him.
Help all others
Find the way to him.
Praying and fasting
Within God's grace.
All these are the steps
That will win your race.
Steps
One God above all
Be worthy of him.
He purchased your soul
From darkness and sin.
One body, one Spirit
One hope in your call.
On baptism, one Father
Who dwells in us all.
Be not highminded
Nor glory seek.
Be in his Spirit
In his ways be meek.
His Ways
It is not I
But Christ in me.
The fruits of his labor
Are what you see.
To be like him
Is what I most yearn.
To sit at his feet
Of his kingdom learn.
Meekness and patience
Forbearance in love.
Brought by his Spirit
Down from above.
His Spirit confirms
My sonship in him.
My flesh no longer
Lusts after sin.
Sonship in Him
He died for us
Because he cares.
Servants no longer
But complete heirs.
Unbound mercy
By his full grace.
Giving to us
At his side--a place.
Unto this world
We are now dead.
By our Christ's hand
From darkness we are led.
In us he now lives
And we in him.
For us no longer
Is a death in sin.
Unbound Mercy
"Jesus Christ,
and him crucified.
Yet, he lives!"
Psalm 118:8 Ministries
It is better to trust in the Lord.....
"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." 1 Cor. 12:20
